Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 6, 2026

FamWave (“we,” “us,” or “our”) helps families coordinate shared calendars, todo lists, meal plans, and activity. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the FamWave mobile apps (iOS and Android) and related services, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to people who sign in to FamWave and use it with their family. FamWave is intended for use by family members who have been invited to or have joined a family group. If you add information about other people (for example, children or relatives in your family tree), you are responsible for having a lawful basis to share that information with us and with your family members in the app.

2. Information we collect

Account and sign-in

FamWave uses Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication. When you sign in, we receive and store:

We do not receive or store your Google account password. Sign-in is handled by Google and Firebase on our behalf.

Family and profile data you provide

When you use FamWave, you and your family members may create and store:

Device permissions

On mobile devices, FamWave may request access to your camera so you can scan QR codes when joining a family via invite. Camera images are used on your device for scanning; we do not collect or store raw camera footage as part of this feature.

Local storage on your device

The app may store data locally on your device (for example, sign-in session information, preferences such as your active family or display settings, and cached copies of family data) to improve performance and keep you signed in. You can clear local storage from Settings in the app.

What we do not collect

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

4. How information is shared

With your family

Content you add in FamWave is shared with other members of the same family group, according to the app’s visibility rules (for example, private lists or events are limited to their creator). Family members can see profile information needed to collaborate (such as display names and photos).

With service providers

We use trusted third-party services to run FamWave, including:

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not authorize them to use your family content for their own advertising purposes.

Legal requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the public.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and family data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. If you delete content in the app, it is removed from active use for your family. If you want your account and associated data deleted, use **Settings → Delete account** in the app or contact us (see Section 11). We will process your request in a reasonable time, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest, including HTTPS for API communication and access controls on our backend. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s privacy

FamWave is designed for family coordination and may include information about children (for example, in a family tree or calendar). The app is not directed at children to use on their own. Account creation and sign-in require an adult Google account. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

8. Your choices and rights

9. International transfers

FamWave is operated from the United States. If you use the app from other countries, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of FamWave after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
